Dear Robert Baldwin Families,

I would like to welcome Katherine Watson to the staff and community of Robert Baldwin PS.

Mme Watson will be in for Mme Da Silva while she is off having her baby. Mme Watson has worked in several French LTO positions for our Board, most recently at Martin Street PS.

We are excited to have Mme Watson for the remainder of the year at Robert Baldwin PS and we know she will do amazing things with our students.

Pink Shirt Day is Tomorrow ~ Wed. February 26th

Just a reminder that Pink Shirt Day is on tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Robert Baldwin PS. The day has its roots in the events from two students in Nova Scotia who wore pink to support another student after he was bullied for wearing pink. It is all about "Anti-Bullying" and "Kindness"

Pancake Day is Friday March 13th

Our annual Pancake Day takes place Friday March 13th 2020.

Students will visit the mall, and be treated to yummy pancakes and juice.

This year parent council is requesting the following items to be donated for Pancake Day.

  • Pancake mix (add water only and nut free)

  • Maple syrup

  • Juice boxes

  • Napkins

  • Paper plates

  • Forks

Please drop off donated items at the office.

If anyone has a griddle they would like to donate for the day that would be appreciated.  Please put your name and child classroom teacher on the griddle.

We also need volunteers to cook and serve from 7:45am – 1:00pm.

If you can volunteer please email Wendy Smith @ wendyhatje@gmail.com

Parent Council

Please help us to ensure another successful year of the Snowflake Bazaar!!! We have extended our deadline for collecting items until December 17th.

Inclement Weather Reminders

During the winter months, inclement weather may cause the disruption of bus transportation and regular school operations.

Parents/guardians are reminded to review the inclement weather information below for the school year.  In case of poor weather, the decision to close schools and/or cancel buses is communicated to parents beginning at 6:30 a.m.

It is always a parent’s decision whether to send their child to school on inclement weather days.  Parents who keep their children at home when schools are open, MUST report this absence before the school day starts at:

  • Toll free 1-877-409-6310
  • Online at go.schoolmessenger.ca
  • HDSB Mobile App.  Available on the App Store and Google Play, Search for Halton District School Board.

Methods of Communication

Since communication is key in alerting families to the status of school operations and busing, we use a variety of methods to communicate this important information.

Email Notifications on Inclement Weather Days

The SchoolMessenger System will email the parents of approximately 60,000 students (between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m.).  Delays in email delivery are caused by limitations of parents' Internet Service Provider (ISP) receiving our messages, spam protection, as well as other GTA school boards sending messages that morning. For this reason, School Messenger email is supplementary to social media, website TV and radio.
